Celebrating B Corp Month: A Year of Impact at Campfire Consulting
March is B Corp Month, a time to celebrate businesses that go beyond profit to prioritize people and the planet. At Campfire Consulting, our certification as a B Corp is more than just a badge—it’s a reflection of our unwavering commitment to using media and marketing as a force for good. Our work is rooted in impact, and over the past year, we’ve continued to push the boundaries of what it means to be an agency that drives positive change.
Why We’re a B Corp
As a B Corp, we hold ourselves accountable to high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. We believe that every media dollar has the potential to create ripple effects beyond just business outcomes. By integrating impact directly into media strategies, we help brands tell authentic, values-driven stories while measuring and minimizing their carbon footprint.
Being a B Corp isn’t just about what we do—it’s about how we do it. From the way we support our team and partners to the clients we work with, we are intentional about ensuring our business operations align with our values. This year, we took our commitment a step further by deepening our engagement with policy advocacy, community-building, and sustainable media practices.
Our Impact in 2024
This past year was a big one for Campfire Consulting, as we leaned into our role as not just media strategists, but as advocates for a more just and equitable world. Here are a few highlights from the impact we’ve made in 2024:
Advocating for Change
We believe that business has a responsibility to shape policy that benefits people and the planet. That’s why we actively submitted testimony on key pieces of legislation, amplifying the voices of purpose-driven businesses. This included advocating for the Building Civic Bridges Act, in partnership with Business for America, to support programs that foster dialogue and bridge lines of difference. We also supported the Protect Elections from Deceptive AI Act, pushing for stronger transparency and safeguards to prevent misinformation in political campaign advertising. Additionally, we attended meetings with our federal delegation and participated in other policy initiatives aimed at corporate accountability and sustainability, ensuring that businesses have a role in shaping a more just future.
Strengthening the B Corp Movement
This year, we reaffirmed our commitment to the B Corp movement by maintaining our certification and engaging deeply with the community. We served on the Maine B Corp Leadership Circle, helping to shape the regional ecosystem of mission-driven businesses. We also continued our leadership within B Proud, fostering connections and resource-sharing among LGBTQ+ professionals in the B Corp community. Additionally, we guided a handful of clients through their B Corp certification/recertification process, supporting them in identifying their impact business models and navigating the complexities of certification.
Evolving Our Theory of Change
This year, we took a major step forward in integrating impact into our media services by revamping our theory of change. Our focus has been on developing the systems and processes necessary to embed measurable environmental and social impact into every campaign we run. We’re actively working on the infrastructure that will allow us to provide clients with not just traditional KPIs but also a carbon footprint analysis of their campaigns and a social impact score. In early 2025, we joined Ad Net Zero and are developing work plans to become more deeply involved in their initiatives throughout the year. We are on track to have these processes fully operational by the end of this year, positioning us to help brands better understand the true impact of their media investments.
Fostering Connection and Education
Education and knowledge-sharing remain at the heart of our impact. This year, our Director of Impact led workshops and trainings on LGBTQ+ inclusion, social justice, and sustainable media strategies for businesses and organizations looking to deepen their impact. From our sexual and gender diversity trainings to our B Impact Clinic work with UNH students, we’ve helped shape conversations around equity, sustainability, and ethical business practices.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate B Corp Month, we’re energized by the work ahead. 2025 will be a year of continued innovation, advocacy, and impact. We remain committed to pushing the media industry toward greater accountability, measuring and reducing our own footprint, and supporting businesses that are using their platforms to create meaningful change.
To our fellow B Corps, partners, and clients—thank you for being on this journey with us. Let’s continue to challenge the status quo and build a future where business truly is a force for good.
Happy B Corp Month!
